Abstract
Micro-concrete roofing tile (MCRT) in recent times is regarded as one of the most patronised roofing materials by professionals in the housing sector of the economy. In this paper, the use of local clays as partial replacements of the expensive imported pigment in micro concrete roofing tiles production has been studied.  Colour assessments of the tiles after exposure to atmospheric conditions have also been reported.  Other quality control tests to ascertain the quality and durability of the tiles have also been presented. Finally, recommendations to popularise the use of these local pigments as substitutes for the imported pigment have been outlined.
